In 2016, I birthed my first baby at home surrounded by my husband, two A-team midwives, and the women of my family past and present.

I was elated, full of oxytocin, adrenalin, and felt like a superwoman.

But soon after, once the adrenalin had worn off, I was pissed off!

Why are women getting ripped off again?

Why are more women not birthing like this?

Why is home birth not more accessible to women?

Since then I have taken the steps to become an endorsed private practice homebirth midwife. If I want women to have this choice and accessibility, then I need to help provide it. So here I am, offering homebirth services to women and families in the northwest of Melbourne, Australia.

I am on my own journey to Homebirth my third baby and taking my own advice and honouring my pregnancy, postpartum & matrescence transition.

I will provide you with all of your pregnancy/antenatal, birth and postpartum care, and consult with allied health professionals if the need arises.

All antenatal care will be provided in my consulting rooms in Hillside or in your home.

I can be contactable 24/7 if any issues arise throughout your pregnancy journey.

  • mother & baby well-being

  • extensive education
  • birth attendance
  • postpartum care and support
  • breastfeeding preparation and advice
  • along with any other needs for your journey.

Our consults are catered to you and plenty of time is provided to answer and discuss any topics you wish to cover.

Your antenatal care starts early in your pregnancy (unless we find each other later in your pregnancy and we start to build our relationship asap) and your consults will be as follows:

  • 12 weeks
  • 20 weeks
  • 24 weeks
  • 30 weeks
  • 34 weeks
  • 36 weeks and then fortnightly until birth.

Although this is your journey and this timeline is a guide, we can meet as little or as often you feel comfortable with.

I and a second midwife will be on call for your birth from 37 weeks.

I provide equipment and supply medications that may be needed for you and your baby during the birth.

I will respect your birth space and your wishes and honour your birth into motherhood and the birth of your baby earth-side.

I have birth pools available for hire which come with a disposable liner and pump. Hose attachments will need to be purchased (from your local BCF).

I will provide post-birth support for on average 3-4 hours after birth.

I will provide you and your baby with postpartum care up to 6 weeks after your birth.

I will visit you daily for the first 3-4 days post-birth, then 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks & 6 weeks.

This postpartum service includes well-being checks, weights and measurements, birth healing, breastfeeding support, plus guidance on all things motherhood, boobs, baby, relationships, rest, nourishment, community and ongoing support.

Again this is your journey and this is a guide, we can meet as little or as often you feel comfortable with.
